Turns out it's hard to keep a journal updated when you do practically the same thing all the time. But my sister came to stay with me this past weekend. We saw Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (finally), which was quite entertaining. I'm not sure that it was better than the first one, but I did enjoy it a lot. It is one of the only MCU things that I haven't read comics for. I just kind of see the GotG when the pop up in other titles, usually the larger 'event' things. So that makes the movies more enjoyable, as I can't sit there and nitpick everything. I wish I didn't do that in general, but I always have and always will. If I've read/consumed in some manner the source material for a film, I will probably leave feeling at least a little unsatisfied. There are a few exceptions, but that's a general truth.

Uhhh...this Saturday is my Nan's 70th birthday. I suggested throwing a surprise party for her a few weeks ago so my mom, my aunt, and I have been planning it. I'm making the cake on Friday and getting all the decorations together. My uncle is supposed to tell her he's taking her and my Papaw to lunch for her birthday/Father's Day, and instead bring them to my aunt's house where we'll all be. We're supposed to grill, so hopefully the weather holds. My aunt has a covered porch area, but it'd just be easier if we didn't have to get beneath there with the grill and the smoke and all that. Hopefully it will all go well! I need to buy a bundt cake pan...I swear that I had one at one point, but who the hell knows where it is now.

Let's see...I guess the only other real new thing is that I joined an RP on Tumblr with Katie! Superhero-y thing. It is fun so far! Though unsurprisingly I'm impatient for people to post. And also EVERYONE IS LIKE 17 YEARS OLD AND I AM ANCIENT. UGGGGH. I mean I know at I started doing online fandom stuff when I was 14-15, but...you know...the situation was never supposed to get reversed where -I- became the old person and everyone else was talking about homework and parents cutting off internet and so on. Sigh.

We're having a baby shower at work tomorrow for one of our Pathologists. I got her a rather gorgeous illustrated copy of The Secret Garden, so hopefully she likes it. We've had a few baby showers since I started and I usually get similar gifts. I think for the first one it was a copy of Winnie-the-Pooh, then A Little Princesss, and now The Secret Garden. I figure that everyone else is going to buy clothes and diapers and the usual stuff, so I'd rather not.

I guess that's it for now! Super exciting, I know.
